I am going to ask this question on quite a few other videos as well, because I am looking for guidance about training a psychiatric service dog…
I have severe depression and anxiety… Severe anxiety with anything to do with doctors, I am also just slSUPER uncomfortable with it… I also have SEVERE anxiety with any social interaction, my anxiety interferes with the way I talk, facial expressions(lol I always look mad during these), and sometimes my legs even can get shaky and i have to sit down… I want to train a psychiatric service dog to help me with my severe anxiety and depression, but I do not visit doctors, and I do not have a therapist…
What I am trying to figure out is… Do you ABSOLUTELY HAVE to have a diagnosis or letter to train my own service dog? Or can I just do it? I realize that service dog registration is not a legal value thing… but I would rather not have to go to a therapist to get a diagnosis of mental issues if I don't ABSOLUTELY HAVE to…. Please if you know the answer to this question let me know
I figure the best way to find out is to ask a service dog handler 😅😅
Not trying to be confrontational or anything but does your dog help you to get over or through your anxiety or panic attack or just alert that you’re having one. If they do help you through it, what do they do?
Im going to have a cardiac/ptsd alert dog soon. What happens if my dog alerts and i "am too far in the zone to respond"? I can dissociate pretty hard and i hyperfocus on things.
Oh I love how the dog tries to calm its owner with its little paw🐾 to stop hm/her from anxiety, stay cool and calm bc you have your best companion ever
Omg the other day i was at Costco (i live in canada)and i seen a sinhn that said service anaimals only no pets allowed i thought they completely forgot about service anaimals in new brunswick (saint john)
This might sound silly, but i struggle with anxiety and panic attack’s and am confused of if i need a service dog or emotional support dog. My attacks can cause me to feel dizzy and my heart rate skyrocket and i find it hard to recover it happens often. What do i need?
Yeah, I can't see how this is any different than keeping a slave. Keeping this animal on leash, so it can entertain you when you get anxious. Just learn to deal with it instead of being dependent on an enslaved animal. Forcing the poor animal to entertain you in exchange for their basic needs is gross. Everyone is praising this too. Most people can only think about themselves it seems.

I am training mine to be anxiety yes mind is gs dog (German shepherd)
