Lol we know you take the E-collars off for the video. All good tho, as long as they are used properly.

I feel as though it's not as hard to train a German Sheppard this well because they are so smart that's why they are used in the military

So what do you do when their reward overpowers your command? Do you bring you 2 rewards? The thing about a in pray dog training is that the dog only cares when you have a toy or treat. You don't have it and there's a squirl near by. It's bye bye fluffy

Do you use only positive training?
    Nothing else?
I've heard there's something called balanced training

I have a bully breed or "pitbull". Positive training worked well the first few months of adoption (4.5- roughly 7 months). Then, it changed, positive training results left at the speed of light out that window, believe that. I notice most positive training videos use these highly intelligent working line breeds or dogs that are just easy going such as Labradors who generally don't cross certain boundaries. I believe in dominance, even human portray such behavior. My Chipoo is positive trained, 100% good results. My Pitbull, he needs a balance training method, positive just didn't do for him.

Positive reinforcement doesn't always work. I've seen trainers rescue aggressive dogs from being put down at a kill shelter because positive reinforcement training failed them several times.

Does this method work if you don’t always carry around rewards like treats or their favorite toy?

Those who are saying E-Collars are necessary for some dogs are incorrect. Multiple large trainers (Victoria Stilwell is a pretty good example) have shown us that you can indeed correct problem behaviors with positive reinforcement. If you need an E-Collar to control a dog, then you havent actually trained that dog to listen to YOU as the owner/handler. Problem behaviors take effort and time to train, you have to build trust with that dog.

What makes you think balance training is about dominance??? Its about leadership and stepping in to take control. I love seeing those videos of your dog pulling you to see another. Great training buddy

I think people don't realize how much dominance plays a role in all relationships even with people. Now dominance or aggression is far from the way to train. But the dominance is still there regardless even if you don't realize. It would simply be impossible for a dog to be that obedient without understanding the power play between the two. He understands you are the owner/handler and you give commands and he listens to those commands. That in and of itself is dominance and that must be instilled before you can ever get to the point of being able to get them to listen to commands. If they believe they are above you they will walk all over you at every given chance but a dog who understands his place will listen to commands. You gotta realize not all dogs are prize driven 100% of the time. And dominance is no where near equal to aggression or hurting. You should never have to hurt the dog or be agressive but scolding is how the dog understands they did something wrong. I think people misunderstand or associate dominance with agression and it's not true. Most people you'd call "dominance trainers" are usually really more of abusers. But the dominance in the relationship is always there. That doesn't mean you are aggressive, mean, hurting or man handling the dog. It just means they understand their place.

Thank you for making this!! Could you make a video on teaching dogs to unlearn aggression? I would like to know how you would theoretically handle a situation like that. Please and thank you!
