I was in a target with my dog and the employee asked me not to bring him on the escalator. She said his claws would get stuck in the belt at the top… I was super confused, I don't think that would happen. But I wanted to do this with my puppy and he didn't get the chance to. He's still young so maybe I'll try again
Use leash pressure if you need to. Learn the dog first what leash pressure means. Learn leash pressure to make the dog to trust you. They learn fast to become confident.
I’d recommend getting a pair of dog protecting boots for your dogs paws when doing this type of training. Their paws can get injured from the escalator and their nails can get caught in the escalator.
Escalators are really dangerous for dogs — especially at the end. Their nails can get stuck in the metal grate and be ripped off. Always carry your dog or use the stairs!
I don't care how much of a trainer you are. Never take a dog up or down an escalator. Even though it may seem minor, you are still putting your dog at risk to get injured. Always Look for stairs or an elevator.

Going down is the hardest for me 😂
This is dangerous, don't bring a dog on an escalator without proper conditioning. They can get seriously hurt.
We don’t get to see the down?

I'm not sure I'd let him on that. They don't wear shoes.

…and going DOWN the escalator??
I taught our dog how to climb our stairs so she can go to my room, I regretted that.
My Malinois loves these escalators. I can play hours with him just taking the escalators 🤣
Very beautiful German Shepard ❤
What would you do if he didn't go up the escalator the first time even if u pulled him? Mine is really afraid and pulls back.

Remember to be careful with escalators and make sure your dog doesn't get their nails caught
Don't put dogs on escalators unless there's literally zero other options…
