So glad to see people in the comments see through this insanity. Why is it okay to lower the bar so much that people are actually being shamed for not allowing their dogs to be out of control and ruling the home and family they live with? When did we start acting like human quality of life takes a vack seat to our dogs. Unwanted behavior around children? Zak says simply leash them 😢 What reality does this solve anything? So sad for these families dealing with unwanted horrific behavior and shame on the people who act like its acceptable to live with a canine tyrant for years! This is not okay! Please, if you are dealing with unwanted behaviors- find a different trainer and different method. "Responsible management" isnt realistic in the slightest and isnt simple at all. Accidents happen in these scenarios – dogs get out, get loose, people/children forget, etc- if this is the only solution offered its a disaster waiting to happen. Ive done it- it doesn't work and cam actually make things worse when you are dealing with two or more dogs, especially with aggressive tendencies. IMHO- it's unacceptable to accept families to putbup with this stuff for months and months if not years!
Looking for input on a dog who seems to bark out of boredom haha. As in, has toys, doesn’t need potty, had dinner, had a frozen pb marrow bone, played with the snuffle ruffle, we are watching tv, she just looks over and “AWROOOO” “BOOF BOOF BOOF “ * 300 ad infinitum. I actually just let her keep going at one point to see if she’d stop. She did lol. Probably about four minutes. With a giant sigh of disgust at me, she stood up and went to get some water and then pretended she needed to pee. I say pretended because I did listen and let her out. She stood on the porch and smelled smells. That was all. 😂
Honestly the barking doesn’t bother me, I’m a weirdo I know. But I kinda just want to know why. Do dogs literally get bored? She’s a senior pibble, only dog diva. I’m sure we spoil her in all the ways haha.
I got a pom at 18 weeks old. His puppy biting is insane, he pulls on clothes aggressively and barks when he doesn't get what he wants. He eats everything in site or tries to, he runs away with crap and I can't catch him. I've never tolerated this behaviour and I tell him very sternly no and try to remove myself so he doesn't get a reaction but I'm telling you, he just does not listen and nothing seems to get through his head. I've had very well behaved dogs in the past, jack Russell Maltese cross, fox terriers, rottis and corgis and collies but this pom is insane.
What does this mean? What do you mean I can stop any unwanted behavior instantly through responsible management? I want my dog to stop barking at other dogs and animals when on leashe walks. I would love to know how to stop that instantly. I have your book. Your awesome
Management and stop are completely different things. Management is trying to avoid or restrain a behavior. To stop a behavior means you will not see that behavior.
Honestly I’m glad I trained my dog properly and not with Zack’s no correction method. At 1.5 years she’s an amazing well trained pup that I can now walk off leash because I used positive reinforcement plus correction. It’s a world of balance, positive reinforcement for good behaviour, correction for bad. My dog was not abused in anyway and she was a bright happy dog
This is simple management protocols and has nothing to do with changing actual behavior. The real answer cant be explained in 1 minute on youtube. Genetics, the environment, state of emotion, thresholds and a good understanding of learning theory are needed. Not to mention many of the problem behaviors are genetic and no differential reinforcement protocol will work alone, thats where using punishment, reinforcing an alternative behavior and making sure the dogs drives are fulfilled (but how to fullfill drives is also a longer than 1 minute answer), comes into play. All of this takes a long time to actually understand, trainers on social media pretending like you can fix serious problems in less than 3 weeks (MINIMUM) loses credibility instantly and tells me they haven't actually ever worked with serious issues in dogs.
Can u show us in videos a step by step with a highly reactive dog from start to finish with multiple videos and recall from very high distractions ? Just I seen hundreds of positive train clams they can fix this stuff but bin years and still no step by step video proof
It is the biggest thing to save your dog from bad advice. Do not take any advice from this man. He ruins dogs with bad techniques. I’ve seen this guy tried to work a Cane Corso and this guy had no idea what he is doing.
For anyone reading this: I know that dog training can be difficult sometimes, but you're doing great. Keep up the good work, and your dog (and your own sanity) will thank you for it! ❤️💕
WRONG! I didn’t go any further than the beginning of his sentence… if a dog doesn’t know how to behave without a leash it will simply wait for its opportunity to run out the door and still behave badly.
Funny how a neighbor's doberman was aggressive towards humans and dogs for the first 9 years of his life. Every trainer failed.
My Presa Canario sorted him out real quick. He did not use any positive reinforcement at all. Quite the contrary.
Within a month, that doberman was the chillest, most balanced dog, Hung out with 25 people and 6 other dogs at an off leash BBQ for 4 hours, and nothing. Just remained calm.
Cause that's who he was now.
Thank god my Presa gave him his life back. With strict boundaries and rock solid corrections.
But what would a dog know about communicating with dogs, right? Surely a human who is selling you stuff in every video knows better.

So glad there were solutions to go with this lecture 🙄
I think ppl are starting to wake up bro. Positive only does NOT work. Balanced training is the way to go.
What is this dude trying to say? How can we stop it?
Thats never stopped any bad behavoir before. This is the dumbest shit ive ever heard.
That absolutely didn't answer any of my questions
You are positively a nut case clown.
You are a joke. You talk in circles and give absolutely no workable information. Stop listening to this clown

Another one sitting at a desk that knows how to train unruly dogs, go get your hands dirty like ceasar.
Dog on leash? My daughters dog is 100lbs of muscle and she dragged me through shrubbery. Im just proud that I hung on. 😂
His long form videos are great, especially his old ones.
but these shorts kinda confuse me.
I thought he was gonna say to correct the dog which is more so the right answer to this question.

All you said was responsible management without explaining how to implement this was pointless

Just remember – all unwanted behavior will stop when the sun goes super nova and engulfs our solar system /s

This guy is boring. I’ll just watch dog daddy

I forgot to read the tags and didn’t know this was about dogs.
Can you do content on a puppy mill dog
Most dog owners are not responsible
This guy is an idiot
