Don’t let it slip try not to rip the hair it’s painful they’ll soon let you know . Slicker brush n comb if the comb doesn’t go thro then slicker n slicker spray n slicker then comb . Poodle coat is dense n never ending brushing also don’t bath rubbing put the shampoo down the coat n gently get it in n rinse n condition n comb if blow drying to trim maybe less or none at all to make coat stand up. If in doubt maybe preclip if needed .
Just don’t leave it brush every walk n day n nite I left mine n omg the matts luckily I got them out im taking mine to groomer to get the lines set in as I have been down I groom mine n training dog groomer . It’s a lot of work mines a large toy / mini cream black points. ❤ brush ya dogs it’s neglect if you don’t brush them out . Dogs are babies let’s take a step up for them if ya dealing with a lot it’s tough just try for ya dog. Brushing vertical gently teases out the tangles with a good slicker n doubled sided slicker that targets tangles. If Matt is bad then just clip it n start over dogs hate Matt’s n their wellbeing is more important than cost to your pride.
i learned how to do that at my previous job, i was a dog groomer for 4 in a half years, i was not a fan of line brushing because i could never get the hang of it. i work at a doggy daycare now.
Thanks. I was looking for Doodle preparation for clippers and this was what i needed. I spend the most time during clippers running into small knots or curls that make me stop the clippers brush them out and start with the clippers again. It was making the grooming process take so long. I bought a brush like the one you used here and i will report back if it helps during clipping
