Perfect tip! As a dog trainer, I love seeing people use positive reinforcement.
Just a tip from a dog trainer- give them the marker word (in this case “yep”), and preferably the treat as well, while they’re still doing the command. I’m not sure if that’s practical if you’re blind cause you can’t see the dogs face, but if you can it helps make it more clear exactly what they’re rewarded for. In this case I’d want the dog to know they’re being rewarded for going and staying under my legs, not for coming out 🙂
I've got my dogs to "tuck" or "tuck in" when I'm specifically sitting on the floor at the vet's office. They only do it then because that's the only place I take them where I sit on the ground. I tried to train my older dog Lucy as a service animal but I realized she's too reactive and too much of a people lover. I used to have pretty severe panic attacks in public and almost fainted a couple of times from my BP skyrocketing then dropping. I've learned to control it over the past few years now and I didn't become one of those people who have untrained emotional support animals.
If you need an ESA please PLEASE have them trained and know when your animal isn't suited for the work. Don't put yourself, your animal, or others at risk. Train them.
Mine sits in front of me but it's always funny when a big doggo wiggles into a tiny space to be "under" at a restaurant or on the train. 😂
My dog is a service dog for me and my autistic brother I will try this with my dog because we've been trying hard to train my dog ☺️

My multipurpose service dog does this but she shoves her head between my legs so she can alert without having to get up! Super helpful
