We’re picking up our golden doodle in a few days! So excited. Any tips other GD owners have? So far we know she is very calm and cuddly.
We had a giant labradoodle that loved to 13. He was an awesome boy. We miss him so very much.
We adopted another labradoodle puppy. He is now 5 months old. He is an amazing young boy but we know the breed and know what to expect. His name is Blaze. We have him in formal training thru Pet Smart too, not that we don’t know how to train but to socialize him with strange dogs and people. We have 4 little dogs too and they have all been really good with him. Blaze is a medium labradoodle so slight differences from the giant doodles but so many similarities. It’s not easy to raise a new puppy but the more time you invest the better it is for you and your dog. Doodles are immensely smart. But like you pointed they are origins of a poodle and a lab (or a golden retriever) so you have to take that in to account. Before you adopt any dog regardless of breed know the ins and outs of that breed. If you don’t want to have to give a lot of exercise then do not get a breed that needs a ton of exercise. If you know what you’re getting before you get one there is less trouble too.
