You weren't being also rude or hurtful to the dog you are literally batting the dog away to try to scare it away like you were trying to save those two dogs way more better than the damn owner because those dogs the owner was just going no stop hey you are not only keeping the safety of the dog you are walking but you're keeping the safety of the dogs that came up and you are doing your best to keep everyone safe because the dog could have turned around and bit you could have gone and anyone that would come close to it thinking you were a dog I hate people like this I hate people who walk their dogs without leashes because my dog is an aggressive with other dogs just gets over excited and sometimes some dogs don't mix Sumdog breeds don't mix well together I remember walking my dog and at first we had to have like a training lead on her nose and that because my family she came from somewhere in my state of Iowa where it was a huge place where they allowed her to run and they would let her run off and she wouldn't come back in like 2 days 3 days maybe even half of the day and they wouldn't mind because they know she would come back so we had to literally show her we're in a town we do not do that show her that it isn't like a country vast side and we had a train her out of that and walking was hard because she would try to control and it was hard to control her because she would Buck like a bull and it was hard because she was like a brown bear she's better now it took a long time for her not to run away and we would have like a crate that she would go in as a naughty timeout area and when she wouldn't run away for a longer time we would knock on wood as a suspicion but we are also get her a special treat something that she wouldn't get off in like a burger from McDonald's a plain burger with some cheese but DC dogs for walking around and a lady seems rude and standoffish and I said hi to her and I smiled then I noticed one of the dogs were off the leash and came up to my dog and my dog bark my dog Millie she barked and the other dog growl at her and I know my dog will either growl back and start a fight or Tower I don't know so I said sorry Can you lease your dog can you get your dog away from my dog and she just stared at me and mumbled something you just kept walking past rudely and I said something to her I yelled out maybe instead of being rude and upset and blame everyone else's pet or pets they're walking maybe you should leash your damn dogs
Ideally, once the leashed dog is insight, the other 2 would then be put on leashes. Even better, but rare, is the leashes dog's owner would stop a moment to give time to leash the other two

I yelled to the owner to call his dogs, nothing. But THIS is NM. So I yelled at the owner again, he looked just as I unsnapped my HOLSTER. You should have seen him yelling at his dogs to stop and chasing them like a madman. Yeah, he won't make that mistake again. Never touched the gun, only the holster ….
While the off leash dog owner is still in the wrong, if we really cared about the safety of both dogs, I would tell the owner your dogs reactive. Letting the dogs approach and saying nothing while your dog freaks out is just causing unnecessary stress on everyone, in my opinion there could have been an easier way to handle this situation.
I wait a second or two to see which one of us is going to “initiate the initiative.” DONT TURN IT INTO A GAME of CHICKEN! Move off the train tracks and stand to the side of the road allowing the public free access . During this time I will block my dogs sight by bending down and giving love . This is love mixed with trust . Trusting your dog vice versa and what would be a negative outcome reaction and experience in turns into a moment of love cuddling and affection.( I have heard that my way of training is NOT. The correct way and may make things worse but not in my case)

My dog was perfect off leash. But now that other dogs ran up on him and challenged him to fight and a fight breaks out, my dog seems traumatized and does not trust any dog coming up on him. Now I leash him on the off-leash while my two other dogs walk off-leash and they are fine.
I’m so fed up with other dog owners allowing their dogs to run up on mine. Why can’t people control their dogs?????? Mine does fine off-leash as long as other dogs to run up on him. I’m so furious about it. What do I do???
ngl i think its stupid when someone say "no dog should ever be off leash" cause there are some really nice dogs that will listen, i actually think you should have a license to have a dog off leash in public, my basset hound would be really sweet off leash, even to a baby thats pulling on her fur, but i wouldnt trust my Neapolitan mastiff near any living thing, period, its all about not being stupid.

If your dog doesn’t have 100% recall they shouldn’t be off a leash
