He knows the word, and where he needs to be, my challenge is disengaging his nose from the ground, and having a clear step between ‘allowed to sniff’ and ‘we’re walking’! We are getting there though, thanks to your videos, which are brilliant. Thank you. Selling stuff on Vinted so we can come up for a session, to train me! Dog gets it. I’m just wildly inconsistent… 🙄

Just be careful………….. if they swallow without chewing. Then STOP. Dogs whom do this (inhale food rather then eating it) can Asphyxiate if the food goes into their lungs. Please dont learn the hard way, like I did. Be careful. I havent seen trainers warn of this. Its not common but it CAN and it has happened.

What do you do when they linger for the treat and jump instead of heeling?

I’ve got a little bit of a hard dog I’ve done that and he’ll do it while you’re doing it but then when you go to do the real heeling , he blows you away

This is basically the problem with most commands people teach. They add the verbal command before the dog even understands the behavior they want executed.

This was literally me today. Continously saying Heel, heel, heel while training him. Lol. Literally made me laugh bc I was going crazy over training, but I'll be using your tip of advice. Thank you!! 🙏❤️

I don’t think this is helpful for miniature dogs as they can’t smell and follow the treat the same way due to the height difference

Mhhh is it possible that i ruined my heel command? Do i need a new Word? Or is it just necessary that i train it your propper way and just change the body movement and stick to the word heel?

I got a male German Shepherd (somebody didn't want it and was giving it away at 7months) I've never owned a dog or been brought up around them. I knew I had a massive responsibility to train and socialise him, (previous owner did nothing). I couldn't afford training, so I've trained him from watching these guys and Will Atherton. Don't blow my own trumpet often but he's 18mth now and amazing, he goes on train, bus, off lead. He's great with people and dogs.
It's all thanks to these guys.
Thank you, I've got a great dog thanks to you lot.
