Im not saying this is not true.. but it wasnt true for me. I have s brother and sister…and they are individually attached to me and have a rivalry for my attention….but they arent inseparable
I grew up with two dogs from the same litter and they both were very different and attached to two very different people (my brothers). Loved and protected each other but they had their people and us. It was like two momma dogs. They even took care of the others puppies. And they listened to me as well. Just them first.
I had no choice to get litter mates, the day I went to adopt my pup. They told me if no one adopted his brother he was going to get put down. They were barely 16 weeks old whether that was just a ploy to get me to take them both I don’t know, but now I have them, and I am dealing with it🙀😫
not true my dogs had a litter and we kept 2 of them and yes they have a tight bond but they still play with you if you include yourself in their activities they will inculde you
I have 4 litter mates 3 girls and 1 boy the boy is a loner for the most part and same with one of the girls but the other 2 girls are inseparable they literally do everything together and if I try to separate them to do these separately they will not do it until the other is around it’s crazy!!
With cats it’s somewhat similar. They both hate each other yet they still follow you around all day long. So instead of playing all day they fight constantly lol
Lol my kids and I took 3 siblings rescued and and already had my daughter's Chihuahua then added a very hyper beagle puppy. Talk about a pack my daughter's Chihuahua knew to obey my daughter's commands. The others listens to me and my son our attack guard cat only listened to my youngest daughter. Luckily they all trained very well together using my daughter's Chihuahua he was older and already trained. But like you said they'll prefer to only stay with each other. Throw a ball think they'll bring it back nope all dogs will play with each other with the ball. Lol once I confused them and tossed up 12 balls they didn't know which way to go
I bought two dogs that have extreme bondage too, but the difference is that one of them is an old lady so she doesn’t like playing with the three-year-old pitbull because she gets really tired so she ends up playing with me a lot
Thank you so much for addressing this! I have tried to explain this to people in the past. It even happen with puppy and kittens, not as common but I've seen it personally.
I fostered a mama dog and her litter, ended up keeping two of the puppies and my friend (now fiancé) adopted the mom. (Yes, this means we have 3 closely related dogs in one household. It somehow works.) They were inseparable as babies, decided they hated each other during puberty, and now get along just fine for the most part but they’d both much rather spend time with their humans than each other.
Is it just me? I don’t see anything bad in it. I can’t be a dog, I should not be their n1 friend, my dogs play with me only if they are away from each other and that’s fine. Something I intentionally play with both at the same time to make them play with each other.
I have 4 dogs that grew up together…I have big lands and when they play they just come get me and wrestle with me like any other dog, you just need to know your dogs, and they will actively make you part of the pack…keep in mind I have 4 massive 200 pound mastiffs, and I get to go full out on them
I dont know if I believe that. It’s about asserting your dominance as the alpha role. It’s good they have each other to keep each other company. Wolf packs have leaders and they always have more than one puppy
My uncle has 2 dogs snd and they do everything together. Theyre from the same litter. They have 2 small cages next to each other. I just realized how he impacted Littermatr syndrome
don't forget you really want your dog to have a companion, but especially once they get older together, you need to remind them who the father and leader is, that's pretty much what he's trying to say
For future reference, make sure you let everyone know that this isn't the problem unless they refuse to listen to you.bring them have as much fun as possible is actually what you want, but when they start seeing you as a no one, then we have an issue

Good point. I don't think I can crawl on all fours to play with 2 puppies lol
All you are is the caretaker when you have 2 or more dogs
My dogs from the same litter fight for dominance

Just make sure one of the two is a chihuahua. Problem solved.
