you can also buy puppy playpen enclosures, they are open at the top,and they can see out of all the sides, they have plenty of room to run around and they are safe ,not chewing on items they could choke on. Plus they are not enclosed in a cage for long hours.

I am lucky working from home. When I go to office my puppy go to day care. I never leave any snack when I am out. Heard many story dog can chock from eating sometimes. So I just leave only water.
