Not bringing a 8wk old puppy is a good start, the pup should be 9 wks old. That extra week with their siblings makes the world of difference for social behavior.
Any animal I own, I keep the mentality that I might not be their last owner. Things happen! So if something happens to me, I want my animals to have the highest chance at an amazing life and family after me
I don't even have a dog, and I'm probably never going to get one (I don't have the commitment or time to properly train one💀) but I'm obsessed with watching these videos lol
This is reassuring. Even as a dog trainer myself, I’ve never trained a new puppy before. Our German shepherd is 13 weeks now and progress seems slow sometimes, but I remind myself he’s only a puppy.
Ok. Can somebody help me with my 4 month old Border Collie mix? She's a bit… weird. Very excited to play when outside and recently began barking at everything. I'm a first time dog owner too.
My shep was socialized and played with a lot of dogs as a puppy. And guess what, he absolutely pulls and whines when he sees another dog, at 4 yrs old! And well, treats don't work, he refuses them after a while. I think he sees it as me tricking him
the video title is misleading. this video is more "what you need to have a perfect dog" not "everything you should know to train a puppy" aka how to train..
HEY BRO. Just wanted to state that I’m a massive Cat dude and have always only had cats. But recently I came across a rescue I had the opportunity of taking in. She is my first dog! I’ve been taking a crash course on all things dogs with your channel! Thank you so much man I needed this. I love this pup with all my heart.
Hi, I really love your videos but they seem to have a lot of flashing, or at least this one did. Would it be possible to reduce that a bit? I have a puppy and your videos are amazing, but it gives me migraines so I can’t watch this one. I’m really sorry
Haha I did all that with my cocker spaniel and he really did become the perfect dog, the hardest part( besides furniture and letters being chewed daily and a massive lack of socks) was early socialisation cause he was so cute we couldn’t get a moments peace just constant unwarranted attention 😂
I have raised two puppies and an untrained foster dog. It was a lot of fun and a lot of work. My puppy raising days are over. I have lost most of my vision now. My guide dog came already trained 🙂 thank God!
I would say that the first one is house training to make sure that there’s no accidents which would involve crating. I usually don’t start obedience till they are 12 weeks old and instead concentrate on house training/manners and socialization.
Love your videos, been following you for a long time. We have an almost 4 year old GSD, we didn't let him do stairs until he was around 6 months. Over protective mum 😂😂
Watching your videos has made me realise how nice you can make it for yourself to own a dog with some time and dedication, defo one for the future! Great vids as always WIll!

Socializing is hard when u are the only person that has a dog 😂
Manners is pretty braud and happens to be my only issue ATM. 😪
Good short!
Loving seeing Reggie grow. He’s going to be such a gentleman.
Yup – socialization, obedience, and manners!

8 weeks is far too young!! 12 weeks.
Damm, I did almost everything wrong with mine
Doesnt matter what this guy says, it sounds like he's patronising everyone

The only thing I'm struggling with is her biting and getting her to walk good on a lead
GSD PUPPIES ARE SO CUTEEE
I love poopies…
Yes, but HOW?
Have you ever worked with a Cimarron Uruguayo?
Never forget that by training your dog you protect yourself, those around you and the dog itself at the same time.
Same with children 😂 ahhh… another story!
Watch what you drop off the counter or they will eat half a red onion and you’re getting a vet bill for a stomach pump😅 yes that happened.

Worked for all of my Presas, Corsos and my Boerboel.
Ahhh good little boy
Dogs are like humans, they are all different……

Could do with some lessons
all nice, mine just hit puberty and we keep re-training basics xD
why does almost noone talk about puberty? ^^

Y si ya no es cachorro y cree que es mi dueño 😢 qué puedo hacer?
My Brother in law jumped out and scared my puppy when he was very very young and ever since then he’s been shy and timid around everything
Most importantly is to get a good breed. I had a female Boxer that was perfect. My Mother's Wire Haired Fox Terriers were a horror show.
My male ACD huffs at me every time I tell him to mind his manners. He listens, but he voices his displeasure.
Easier said than done

Yea that was my mistake. Our GSD has got good obedience, but we neglected socialization and manners. It's still plaguing us, and she's 4 now
Awww the German shepherd puppy ears. ❤
i’m a cat person
