I like how all these videos use dogs who are absolutely NOT scared to get their nails trimmed. Perfect example. Helps A LOT 🙂👍🏾

What if you use a nail grinder

I have always done my dogs nails while they are on their sides. Its just so much easier. Tho I never considered the back of a pickup… this changes everything. My knees aren't what the used to be.😂

One of my dogs tries to lick the grinder when I'm using it. It's harder keeping her face away from it than it is actually doing her nails. I'd never use clippers again personally, it's just so easy to file them down and you can do it really quickly every week to keep on top of them. No clicky floor noise, no toe pain, just nice little nail nubs.

Yes, the Dremel is definitely the way to go! And thanks for the encouragement to get back to trimming their nails. Not too bad because I walk them on pavement. If too long… will the quick go back if you regularly take a little off the tip?

Actually, even on the slowest speed, dremels burn. I use them on myself sometimes. So if there are nerves in a dog's nails they will feel it. There doesn't seem to be an easy answer for dogs nail trimming. The only thing I can think that will work is a sling to hold him still and then use whichever method is best a nail trimmer certainly is faster

❤❤🎉Loved ones, return to the Lord Jesus Christ. He died for your sins and he is risen. He will give you life, an indescribable love, peace, and joy. Repent of what the New Testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel, get baptized, becoming one with his holy church, as we grow in faith together. Obey the teachings of Jesus. The gospel and the teachings of Jesus are documented in the four Gospels. Jesus is the only way to be saved, he will never leave or forsake you. If you have faith in Jesus, through your faith he will help you live by his teachings. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God bless. ✚

My boy’s 14 and used to let me do anything, but now I can’t even touch his legs unless he’s asleep. If I try to get him to stay on his side while awake, he’ll fight so hard he could hurt himself trying to get free. I think it’s from losing some control in his back legs. I clip his nails when he’s in a deep sleep—he didn’t used to sleep that deep, but ever since I got him a new bed, he’s always sprawled out instead of curled up like before.

The Dremel works if he’s out cold, but his quicks have grown out. I’m trying to stay on top of it, but I usually only get 2-3 nails done before he wakes up.

I got all the tools but for my 1 year old pit the board with 100 grit is what worked the quickest lol flipped it upside down so when he claws at it, the box opens. My oldest was fine with the drill and i laid him down just like the video

I started putting the dremel next to my puppies when they were weeks old, even before their nails needed it. They got used to it, so it was not a problem. Too bad many breeders don’t take the time to work with pups on basics like nails, baths and hairdryers

No, it doesn't hurt but it still scares the c*** out of them. I love how people use the easiest content to instruct other people.

I also prefer a Dremel. My ACD does not like the sensation of clippers and tolerates a Dremel just fine.

I never trim my dog's nails. We just play fetch on asphalt and it keeps the nails short.

The vet can prescribe knock out pills for pet dogs, i think, i hope because I have a dog that totally freaks out if I try to trim just one nail!! I'm taking him for walks but it's time to get his teeth cleaned, so the vetenarian can cut the nails too!!
