I wish I knew everything your channel has taught me when I first got my dog. I ended up getting a harder breed and no body told me how difficult it would be. After a long time and lots of work he’s gotten so much better. I love him and I’m so happy with the improvement he’s made. Thanks garret!
Help I have a husky (3)and just got a chiweenie(14 weeks) and my husky will not stop bitting his head how can I stop this!! So worried she is going to hurt him.
What if the puppy is only a few weeks old? We have a small fox hound (about the length of a forearms) coming to meet a fully grown fox hound and an African Rhodesian ridgeback
My adult dog(she) wants nothing todo with the new puppy(he). She skirts around him, won’t turn her back to him, won’t let him touch her. If she has a toy and he goes near her she drops it and walks away. She is very passive, she has given him a couple small corrections but she is very passive and submissive but no hair on end or aggression. I could really use some advice on how to get these 2 to coexist. Both German Shepards.
What do you do when you have a female australian shepherd who absolutely DESPISES OTHER DOGS EXCEPT FOR MY UNFIXED MALE ( My mother bought her for breeding purposes but her and my male never did the deed. Which i know is not because of him due to the fact that our breeder list his daddy unexpectedly n didn't have any other intact male out of binelli so we agreed if she got him health tested etc she could have him for a year and used him for breeding purposes n he has sired two litters so far one litter of eleven pups. Two female and nine male n another litter of nine pups. Sooooo i know hes able to impregnate a female. ) however she is overly dominant ( used to try to hump him n tried to hump me once which i immediately put a stop to. She has a great recall on her when it comes to most situations like getting into the basement( our cats start in the finished basement) she can be running for the cat food i see her fly by n cal her n she ignored the food n does a one eighty n comes straight to me. She also ADORES PEOPLE N ATTENTION but will attack other dogs even two that i had before she hated my 17 yr old female( fixed) n sinner my 6yr old aussie as well she attacked my mom's older female while i was in the hospital n your her face half off. She had to have surgery. Other then hating any and every dog she's the sweetest pup ever. Im just st my wits end as to wtf to do because I'm having to stay at my parents place to recover and it's hard keeping her and my mom's three dogs separated in the house etc. Worried the next time Zara gets ahold of Maggie( my moms dog ) she will end up killing her. If anyone has any suggestions please message me or email me at melmack5589@gmail.com tia
Hi! I am introducing a puppy into my home, but I already have another dog.
She is energetic, too friendly and a Boxer, the other dog it's calmer, will be around 3 months old (Eurasier) (After consulting with my vet and other experts they suggested me to pick it up an older puppy will be better for them).
We are already preparing for it and we have scheduled a couple of dates with other dogs and our boxer in order to analyze what can go wrong before the puppy arrival.
It's there anything else we can do apart from the walk? The boxer it's my dog, or more like, I'm her human, so we are a little bit worried in that sense.
The real question is, what do you do when the puppy is several times the size of the older dog? Because it happens. I'm planning on a giant breed, and that dog could be 75 pounds at 6 months, but it's inevitable that he's going to come into contact with my mother's dog, a lovable but pathetic little mutt who can't be more than 20.
you mention that you dont want them "self correcting eachother", i underdtand they cant do this all the time. but I have a 6 year old lab, and a 5 month old. is it bad that I let the older one mother the younger one when they are playing
The don't let them self correct each other is weird. But I can understand the negatives if a poorly trained dog was doing it. My pit seems to do a good job at it. He's teaching her his favorite potty spots outside. Which he doesn't like pooping out in the open. He likes going in corners or in bushes. He taught himself that one. He's teaching her sit and stay. Literally caught him teaching her that yesterday. Even not to attack the farm animals. She's listening and learning well. I'm impressed with my pit/coonhound mix. He's a good farm hand
Wish I had seen this 18 months ago. We have a 9 year old dog and bought a new puppy last year of similar breed but both male. Everything was fine up until a few months ago when my older dog turned on the puppy and it kept happening more and more. Unfortunately with two young children also in the house we decided to rehome the puppy. I sobbed all day the day he left. BUT he has gone to someone we know, we get regular updates and he is living his best life! Our other older dog is also living his best life mostly asleep on the sofa. Lesson learnt.
Im having the opposite issue where my 2yo german shepherd plays too excited and plays rough with smaller puppies. I get worried hes going to trample other pups by accident. Any tips on this ?
My aunt brought her young energetic small dog to my house without giving me a heads up.Needless to say my dogs were not okay with a random dog that's a stranger to them running around their home. I did not want to risk a fight because he's half the size of one of my dogs so I had to put my dogs outside because my aunt absolutely babies him so he has to stay by her.
Neutral territory is crucial. Dogs know what is theirs and don't usually like a stranger being all over their territory and their owner. I worked at a shelter where it is required dogs meet potential adopter's dogs out on the trail or in the play yard so they get used to each in an area that is not claimed by one of them.

It’s a shame because his technique is amazing but you cannot she a puppy on a walk if they are not jabbed

Thank you for the behind the scenes finally

Wow, this actually helps quite a bit.
Very detailed, too. Thanks 😊
Your older dog is beautiful❤❤
Mcgregor thw 5Yo?
It's so cute that their 13 year old Corso ages like a loved stuffed animal 🥺

What if you have 3 adult males dogs that don’t get along with each other?
Is it worth the 300 bucks?
Funnily enough, this advice probably works for children as well.
So no corrections even if the dog is good at correcting? I always thought puppies learned their manners from their momma correcting them.
Heck yeah brother, another BANGER of a short!
That is an old corso
You are doing Gods work out here. I remember seeing one your older videos from 3-4 years ago and I’m just so happy you are still posting.
Aww look at that old man! Handsome

Don't get a new puppy if your old dog is already passed 10 years old
That's just cruel
