A question: what do you do with the 💩 that is not on the trail? Do you recover that…It’s non practical to bring dog 💩 around while you hike, where do you put it? Tks
I feel so sick and sad almost each time I see a golden retriever. I find it so cruel how we ignore millions of dogs in need and choose to support a breeder which is just increasing the pain of so many other dogs since buying one decreases the chance for do many other puppies to be adopted. On top people like you promote these breeds. How can we be so blind and ignorant? On too many golden Retrievers have hip issues and end up being put to sleep because they can’t walk properly anymore when they are old and have horrible pain. Same goes to German shepherds. Just because we don’t see them cry and hear them complain doesn’t mean they have much pain. Get more compassionate and open your eyes.
Have you ever had an issue with fleas and ticks? Do you use natural preventatives and treatments? I need to find some natural stuff that is the real deal for my pup on hikes.
No matter what i do my dog will not stay when i say "vome here" she'll come, but if she doesnt wanna stay she wont, no matter how hard i try to teach her that come here means to come and stay
I put harnesses on my dogs when hiking. Ever had a dog lose its footing and go over the edge? You’ll want to have a harness on the dog with leash to pull it back up safely, as opposed to pulling it by the collar around its neck, which can choke or even slip off over their head.
I also love to hike/trail run with my pup and these are all great tips. I'd also highly recommend some sort of emergency lifting harness in case your dogs get hurt. Thankfully, I've never had to use mine, but I bought the Fido airlift pro and it gives me that piece of mind. Think about how hard it would be to carry your injured dog in your arms down a mountain or trail for many kms.
Bring an emergency blanket or layer for hypothermia protection. Always easy to say u never need it. But the one time I did- forever thankful!😊 go nala! Stomp on!
