I have a pittie mix that lost it at my boyfriend one night. She and I were sleeping, and he was working in the basement (he had a wonky sleep schedule then) and came up at some ungodly early morning hour in a Tyvek suit to shower. She didn't charge him, but she woke up, stood over me, and barked/growled the most serious barks I've ever heard out of her. She was apologetic when she realized it was him, but she's always made me feel safe (and generally, she's the sweetest, loves people, especially kids).

I had a pitty that was playing with dad on the bed. I got sick at work and had come home about an hour after I left. My husband didn’t hear me come in but she did. She was on attack mode. She rounded the corner and gratefully saw it was me and stood down. She put the ears down.. head down. We gave her extra love and treats. I never thought that dog had a mean bone in her body but she sure as heck was ready to defend her daddy.

The upside of being poor and having a small house with a small yard is the dog can hear my beat up car even before it gets in the driveway.

We have a GSD that has mistaken my husband for a threat in the backyard, it was evening, cold outside and he was in his comfy sweats. And I’ve never seen a man yell so loud and strip down so quick. 😅

My Corso doesn’t bark until he sees who it is and if it’s someone he doesn’t know. My other 2 idiots will bark their heads off but my Corso will just look until he sees the person and if they know him and he has 2 different barks. A high pitched puppy bark when it’s someone he knows like saying hi and a deep “big boy bark” when he doesn’t know. He’s still a puppy about 9 months old and is doing great with training, loves kids, and has quickly learned who he can play with”rough with” in the house and who he needs to be gentle with. My teen kids he plays a little rough with but if it’s too much for them they will say stop and he will and my toddler and baby he will just lay with or he will bring his toy to my toddler and lay it down or place it in his lap for him to throw it all gentle 😆

Yep! We had a black German shepherd named Jack growing up as kids. I decided I wanted my bicycle, so I came in through the back to grab it real quick, and Jack charged at me from across the yard teeth showing and fur raised. I just screamed his name and he became goop when he realized it was me but that was a close one

Was playing outside with some kids and it was mostly dark out, we were playing tag and I was chasing after the kids and they were all giggling and screaming, my parents dog that is super friendly and not trained for guarding or anything (but was a herding breed) ran up and bit me-it wasn’t hard but I could tell he was trying to protect the kids and he backed off as soon as he realized it was me.

Soooo any time I'm outside my dog stairs at everything and doesn't let it go guard looking left to right and all. How do I get him to feel either say outside or feel like its healthy for him. He is aggressive but he's trully just sitting and watching and when he sees something he getting ready to pull, launch all things just to be like: What? What? Okay way his chest is out and on all four paws ready to jump – American pitbull

    I heard a growling and then a scream😅😅😅
She also bit him one time because he was going to spank our daughter. She needed the spanking, but it was funny.

This is 💯 percent true, I have a bullmastiff puppy at my home and he is just 4 months old and one day my mom was standing next to the Door with her back facing the door, I just reached home from my office and i sneaked up behind to scare her in a playful manner and suddenly my bullmastiff puppy started to bark with all his hairs puffed up and he calmed down only when I gently tried to make him understand that it was me and such guarding instinct from the very young age of 4 months really suprised me and he was like full beast mode on that day

I had a lab that would come out in a rage when I pulled up in a strange car. Very unlike him to be that way. You could see the embarrassment on his face when he realized it was me.
