Good vid. I did this 4 years ago with my bully just cuz I thought I was the right thing to do but I agree, my bully will try to run the show if it wasn’t for teaching him this.

I’m about to get a pit bull but we are unsure because we have a territorial Chihuahua mix. We have been guaranteed by the shelter that the pitbull is extremely friendly and patient with aggressive dogs. But does anybody have any tips on how to let my Chihuahua mix get used to him? My Chihuahua is pretty old, and the pitbull is young

A dog bred for blood sport and dog. Not permitted to bring into the country in England and Germany. Originated in England, now even they don’t want to have these animals in their country anymore. Needs to be banned.

I’ve raised/owned Pitbulls for over 40 years & worked in pittie/staffie/bully breed rescue for the last 2.5 decades and it’s so refreshing to see someone from the younger generation (I’m almost 50 and my Dad first raised Ch. German working line Dobies then fell in love with APBT’s back when even Colby-bred lineage Pitties were on the smaller (AmStaff) side (short but much leaner), in order to create an extremely agile, protective of their family, yet non “maneater” (you just didn’t hear of Pitbulls attacking their owners or any children bc originally APBT’s were encouraged to not bite out of fear or pain, having such an enormously high pain tolerance, and even when young pups showed the slightest signs of human aggression, those that displayed such negative traits were culled from the breeding pool, and with very good reason, ofc. And the dog men, as those APBT ethical breeders, unlike the backyard breeders (in the rescue world, we refer to “Greeders”, for obvious reasons 😢), which is why, on average, every 8 out of 10 pitties & pit mixes will be surrendered or worse, euthanized before they find or keep a furever home. The numbers range anywhere between 280,000 up to close to 800,000 depending on which study or year you search by. Which is why I take my duty as an advocate for these beautiful/naturally brilliant, so eager to please their people(which is sadly, how they fall into the hands of evil animal abusers and fighting rings, of which we save in the thousands yearly just within my rescue region of the SE US, it’s just rampant down here), and these 3 foundational principles are also the what I begin all my new fosters/rescues/the dogs I foster to rehabilitate & especially the APBT’s that over time I’ve become a K9 trainer volunteer who trains rescue pitties for Service dog 🐕‍🦺 work to be placed with those with disabilities (mainly brain injuries & mental illness like myself, I have been permanently disabled for a while due to Traumatic Brain Injury, which resulted in Epilepsy & PTSD). Most of the great folks I’ve placed dogs with have been disabled veterans or others who live alone or with no family close by & it’s the most rewarding job I’ve ever had besides raising my own two (now grown, ages 24 & 21) daughters. I also have trained my own Svc Dog & Am in the process of training my 14 yr old Rednose girl’s 6mo. Old replacement & my fiancé’s 3yr old PTSD Reg. Service Dog, a beautiful Blue Fella that our organization rescued from the euthanasia list (sadly, he came from an abusive background in Memphis, TN which isn’t uncommon. We have saved dozens of pitties from that AC, lots of bait dogs, fighting dogs, severely neglected or abused or used for breeding then when no longer able to generate $$$ these beautiful animals are just tossed out like trash. 😢
I’m rambling on & on but out of all the myriad of breeds I’ve worked with & even owned (I grew up on a 165ac family 5 generations owned/operated Beef & Poultry farm so we had a ton of different hunting dogs & that’s what sold my Dad on APBT’s in the late 70’s was their ability to hunt big game. Their courage, their loyal, no quit huge ❤ & they’re the perfect family dogs, when raised properly! I’m sure you’d agree. But you must establish very early on, that YOU are pack leader otherwise, you’ll see the terrier (terrorist) and bully (they try anyway, not out of mean spiritedness, but mischief, like a toddler) 😂.
Thanks for what you do, posting informative videos here on YT. Keep educating new & prospective owners

How do you teach them how to not kill babies and little kids, how to not kill teenagers, how to not kill adults, and how to not kill old people? Also how do you teach them to not rip people’s faces off and how to not be responsible for over 60% of fatal attacks on people despite being such a small percentage of the total dog population? How do you teach them that? 🙃

If you really had a good bully, then he/she would not be locked in their cage but use it as a safe place for comfort.

You are a HELL of a trainer and like me I'm sure that it is a gift to be a Natural Trainer!! Keep up the great work 💯% on point, ALL DAY, EVERY DAY!!!

I’m getting a three month old pitbull today and she’s already potty trained but I’m getting her a crate so I can teach her that that’s going to be her safe spa chill spa, etc. Any tips for new pitbull owners? I’ve had dogs in the past and they all knew the basic training but I’m looking to advance and elevate my position on this I know a lot about the breed and what it Says’z are for a healthy and happy lifestyle, but I just need advice from someone who already owns the breed.? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
