This incredible dog, used for breeding, was found after a house fire. It’s hard to imagine how an animal who had been through such a harrowing experience could still manage to smile through the pain. But that’s exactly what she did, capturing the hearts of everyone who saw her.
When Lotus was first brought to her new home, she wasn’t fearful. Instead, she seemed to be looking for a place to rest her head. For the first couple of months, she didn’t leave the house due to her injuries. It was during this time that she formed a strong bond with her new mama, Kristen.
As she began to heal, she was finally able to venture outside and explore her new surroundings. One of the most endearing things about Lotus is that she lies in the middle of the sidewalk, waiting for someone to come by and pet her. It was clear that she craved love and attention.
The first time Kristen saw Lotus truly excited and mobile was when she discovered her love for a pink piggy toy. She would proudly carry her piggy toy around in her mouth, wagging her tail and showing off her newfound happiness. The toy was so special to her. It was as if they were soulmates!
To celebrate her love for the piggy toy, her mom set up a surprise in the hallway: an array of piggy toys of different sizes for her to choose from. The sight of so many toys seemed to overwhelm her at first, but it was clear that she was in her element. Now, she has enough inspirational toys to last her a lifetime.
